Google Adwords, How To Create Profitable Campaigns

There is simply no better way to get highly targeted profitable traffic to your website than through google adwords. Of course you will have to pay for each click but if you use google adwords effectively your profits will far outweigh what your google adwords advertising costs are. In this article I really want to cover some tips that will help you maximise profits when using google adwords and help to keep your advertising costs to a bare minimum.
Targeting on google adwords is something that should always be selected carefully. If you feel a product will sell better in a certain country then ensure you select that country. If you feel you have a product that can be sold world wide than make sure you cover each country. Ebooks are regularly marketed through google adwords and always sell well when targeting a world wide audience.
Tracking is something 95% of users will not do, so if you can get this one down you will be in a better position than 95% of the people who use google adwords. You need to plant the google adwords tracking code on your payment page or if you are an affiliate you will need to email the webmaster and ask them to insert the code for you. Most sellers will not have a problem with this. Tracking will allow you to see which key words convert and which dont.
Site targeting is another great way to get hold of the traffic ready and willing to buy. However I would only suggest you do this once you know which keywords do the selling and which ones dont. Once you have keywords that sell type them into googles search and see which sites appear at the top of googles organic list. If the site has google adsense on you can then go to your google adsense account and target that particular site. If you have an ad on googles search results and on the top website the sales should role in.
Google adwords and google in general is all about relevance so my last piece of advice would be to always use your choosen keywords within your ads in the title and in the body of the ad. When relevancy is increased so is your google adwords quality score, hence your cost per click is reduced. Using these tips will see your google adwords advertising costs slashed, leaving you to pull in massive profits from your campaigns.

The Most Interesting Classified Sites Online!
July 26, 2008 by KristiAmbrose
There is a large array of classified sites online, but they all pretty much offer the same sort of “services.” They are the best sites to find things like employment, services, personals, items for sale, housing, etc. Most all people know about classified sites such as CraigsList but, I certainly wouldn’t signify this as being the best or the only classified site online, that’s for sure! There is a whole truck load of classified sites online that offer the things listed above, as well as other cool extras incorporated into the site such as games, MP3s, Social Networking options, forums and more. These sites are more of a classified hub rather than a regular classified site.
A hub is more or less a website you can visit or join that has an “all in one” feel to it. If you check out sites like this, then you won’t need to go anywhere else because they have everything you could possibly need right at your fingertips! Other sites that can be compared closely to the classified hubs sites are Myspace, FaceBook, or Moli. Yes, they are all social networking sites, but they also offer other things such as profiles, classified ads, music, movies, games and loads of entertainment to keep you busy!
If you’re searching for sites that offer a multiple amount of uses to their users you can simply search on your favorite search engine such as Ask, Yahoo! or Google for keywords relevant to whatever it is you’re looking for. Say I’m looking for a classified site that also offers games, then I would enter in something like this; “Classifieds Sites Online With Games” or “Combination Online Classifieds.” This will very quickly bring up some sites that could possibly interest you. You can also search for other things such as “Social Networking Sites” and then within the websites just look around and see if they offer the type of options you would like. Of course the second option is a little more work but it will help you find the perfect site!
When joining a regular online classified site or a combination classified site, be sure to take a look around and read the FAQ section and TOS section and familiarize yourself with the rules of the site. One of the most horrible things is joining a site you really like and then getting deleted for not following the rules made by the operator of the site! Example some classified sites don’t allow personals, or don’t allow adult type classifieds. So, just make sure you follow all the rules and do what’s expected of you!

Long Web Forms Online: A Marketing Lesson from Owner Builder Construction Loans
July 23, 2008 by cjesposito
Owner builder construction loans are hard to sell, because it is difficult to generate leads. There is no established list of interested owner builders to whom you can send out direct mailings.
Therefore, owner builders have to find you. This is where having an online presence is vital, but you need more than the standard, simple information request form if you want to be successful in marketing to any group of clients like owner builders.
Why should you pay any attention to the marketing techniques for owner builders? Chances are good you don’t sell owner builder loans. Chances are good you don’t even care what an owner builder is.
But, the lessons from marketing owner builder construction loans are the same lessons that all marketers can apply whenever selling to clients that either have a long lead time or who have to actually qualify before being able to make the purchase.
Owner builder construction loans, perhaps similarly to a product you sell, require not only that the owner builder wants to purchase them. Also, the owner builder has to be financially qualified to be able to purchase them.
It doesn’t matter how good of a salesman you are if your client isn’t going to be approved for the purchase financially.
Second, owner builder construction loans have a very long lead time before the sale is finalized. Owner builders have to get blueprints, apply for building permits, compile a budget to build their home, etc. The owner builder planning process could take a few months.
Compare this to most products that get sold online, for which the transaction might happen literally within a few minutes.
So, if you are selling a product or service like owner builder loans that require a long lead time and a stringent client qualification process, then there is a simple online marketing tool that you can use to streamline your sales process.
Instead of using the standard, simple online information request form on your website, try using a longer, more intensive information request form that requires your potential clients to jump through a few hoops to submit their information.
It sounds counter-intuitive, doesn’t it? Wouldn’t you get more leads if you had a short, simple online form that would allow you to market to more people?
Yes. And, no.
You would have more leads, but they wouldn’t be qualified, motivated leads. And, you would be wasting your time, energy, and money marketing to them.
In the owner builder example, it is very useful to use a long, laborious info request form, because you know that the people who fill out the form are very motivated and extremely interested in your product.
If the owner builder weren’t interested, he wouldn’t spend the time filling out a long, detailed request form. In fact, in this example, you would have your owner builder fill out a form with almost 50 fields just to get you to contact them with more information.
They would fill in information about their construction project, as well as information about their financial qualifications. This way, you could spend your time following up with the owner builders who are going to be qualified for your product. You don’t have to spend your time trying to sell your product to people who won’t meet your qualifications.
And, you will know that they are all very interested in speaking with you. Nobody would fill out 50 questions about being an owner builder if they didn’t want to speak to you about your owner builder construction loan.
Therefore, the long form serves a couple of very important purposes. It allows you to weed out the leads who aren’t going to qualify to purchase your product. And, just as important, it makes your leads jump through a few hoops to ensure that they are very interested before ever contacting you.
It’s good positioning for you. By the time you contact your lead, you will know they want to speak to you. Any emails or follow-ups that you send them will be welcomed.
Make no mistake, there is a time and place for simple, short info request forms on your websites. If you are selling a product with a short lead time and that requires no specific buyer qualifications other than interest in your product, then a short form is a perfect online lead generation tool.
On the other hand, if you are selling a product like an owner builder construction loan, then you will want to use a longer, more detailed information request form that makes your new leads jump through a few hoops to make them raise their hands and show interest in your product. Plus, you will be able to get enough information about them to pre-qualify them before spending too much time.
Do not be scared to make the leap to a longer online information request form. Your number of leads will go down, but the number of qualified, interested leads will not. You’ll have more time to focus on the truly qualified leads. Your sales will go up. Your profits will go up.
Owner builders have proven that this method works. It can work for you as well. Owner builder construction loans are much easier to sell when you are dealing with clients who are qualified and interested in the product. Owner builders are no different from any of your potential clients.

Business Social Media – Domain Name Guide

On the web, your name can (and is) your reality. However naming yourself online isn’t that simple. Choosing a domain name for a business web presence is one of the most critical items in your promotional venture: your domain name will be the nexus of your business for months, years, or even decades.
There are a list of things you should consider before embarking down your online venture:
1) Define your brand. It is more than words, but will be flavored by them. Your business brand is an image of who you are. Ask your friends, family, and peers what your ideas inspire when the words are read.
2) The idea of a business brand is to be memorable, yet effective in communicating the purpose of your business. It is usually more effective to focus on communicating your purpose, rather than just developing your widget as a term.
3) If you can’t get a com extension, choose again. There are plenty of other extension like net and info, but whatever case that is: you will need to also have the com extension or risk losing your brand before it has ever been established. (Businesses should register the com, net, info extensions for a business)
4) If you think of related names in the process, register them today. $10 today is a lot cheaper than the impossibility of getting it tomorrow.
5) Keep it short. A good domain name should be one to three words long. It should not include hyphens or any other characters that are out of place. Shorter domains are generally better for two basic reasons: they are easier to spell and remember.
6) Don’t be scared of going long. Yes, I just said “keep it short”, but having a long domain name has the benefit of saying exactly what you do. Long domains also pull some weight in keyword search results, so having “real estate” in a real estate domain helps a site rank for those terms.
7) Multiple Domains are Okay! So many businesses lock on to the idea of having one site to send readers to. While having focus is good, multiple domains and sites allows a company to have different presentations for different audiences. Multiple domains and sites can also allow a single business to have multiple results in search engines, which allows them to conquest the first page of search results on terms that drive results.
Recognize how you can misspell your own domain. If you have any words that do not carry clearly when spoken or are easy to misspell, register the misspelled version of the keywords. $10 for a misspelled version of your own site name is a very affordable way of preventing client loss or competitive problems in the future.
9) Buy alternate domain names today. At less that $10 a piece, alternate domain names can provide a very reliable way to promote your business and help protect your reputation. If you have any public figures in the business, make sure to spend the $10 to buy personal name domains (firstnamelastname) and any slogans or catch phrases.
10) Realize that your domains are being promoted to both humans and search robots. They each like slightly different things and you should create a strategy for having multiple domains and how they coordinate relevant traffic to your business.
Bonus point: If you are trying to use a new domain for competitive search engine ranking, register the domain for five years. Search engines give credit to the length of a registration to help identify if a new site is a spam site being used to manipulate the search results. By committing to a longer stay, you help establish your virtual reputation in the eyes of engines like Google and Yahoo.
Do not jump the gun! Remember that a domain choice has many different angles to it. It can easily be compared to choosing a real world location for your business: where will it be? what does the neighborhood say? who will see it? how long will you be using it?
If you are a small business, then $50 to $100 to secure a domain name for a few years may seem like a major investment. For larger companies, spending $500 to $1000 for a larger competitive search optimization and brand protection effort is a good investment (for instance, do you own yoursitesucks?)
Understanding that a good domain may mean the difference between five visitors a month or five thousand, greatly changes how your business functions online. With a well organized strategy behind multiple domains, different niche streams of visitors become easier to reach and increase the chance that they will convert into business results.

How to Improve Your AdSense Ads Click-Through Rates
July 22, 2008 by wahbws
Click-through rates, if increased, can mean greater income for you if you are a Google AdSense user. Improving your click-through rate will mean better revenue. There are several ways you can make this happen.
First, what’s your current click-through rate? For this, divide the number of times you have click-throughs by your total number of views. Therefore, if you have a thousand impressions and someone clicks on your ad 10 times, the click-through rate is 1%. Make note of this statistic to compare it later.
Next, go to the website and see which keywords are used most often. You can find a free tool, which is available at seobook it will help you figure this out. This tool can also show you how these keywords rank in Google so that you know what ads will appear on the website based on keyword content. Google determines this. If you modify your content, you could garner ads that have more appeal for the audience, and this in turn might lead to higher click-through rate. Your keywords should appear at least once per 80 to 100 words.
In addition, you should pay attention to content. Your text should be high quality, and should be rich in keywords that are relevant. Your content is going to drive ad placement as well as traffic to the website, and both are needed if you want healthy click-through rates.
This is absolutely imperative, and can’t be overstated. You need quality content and sufficient keyword density so that visitors will find your website through search engine listings. In addition, better keywords frequency means that you get a higher search engine rank with the search engines, which in turn generates more traffic. Visitors will come back to your site if you give them interesting and well-written material. If you must, hire a content writer that has experience with search engine optimization if your traffic or click-through rates are lower than desired.
Your ads positions affect what your click-through rates are going to be. Try placing ads near the top of the page and near the left edge of the page, which may result in more click-throughs. You may also add whitespace around your ads to help increase click-through rates.
Webmasters have often found that ads receive more click-throughs when they blend in with the surrounding content. AdSense can help you shape, size and color your ads so that they fit in with the overall theme and appearance of your website. They have tutorials on their website as to how you can make these improvements. Remove borders, change shapes, apply website color schemes to the ads, and so on to make them more appealing.
In addition, if you limit the number of actions a visitor can take on each page, this will also help. If you provide many links, these can provide many distractions for visitors. In turn, this may make visitors do something besides click the ads, which is exactly what you want them to do. Limit your content to a single item per page, plus a navigation bar and the ad itself. Visitors are much more likely to take the desired action of clicking through when they don’t have too many options to begin with.
If you increase traffic, improve keywords and content, and pay attention to ad placement, you will increase your click-throughs.

Two Tips for Starting an Online Business
July 19, 2008 by eleearticles

My business model is to sell products online through simple, home-made websites, or auctions sites like eBay. I use both Paid Search marketing on Google, Yahoo, and MSN, plus I do my own search engine optimization to promote my website to the first pages of these search engines. It’s not easy work, but the rewards are starting to present themselves. It’s taken over a year to find niche brand name products that are popular enough to sell and have good profit margins.
The reason I share my little history is that my business model is one of the most common being used to generate money online. It didn’t take a lot of thought or an original idea to start generating online revenue. I decided to follow what other successful e-retailers are doing and make it work, which is find a popular product with low wholesale costs and out sell the competition.
If you have a unique idea that you feel would benefit many people, but all means pursue it and make lots of money. But before investing lots of time, double-check, even triple-check that a large volume of people would actually pay for what you are offering.
Most individuals these days read or get spammed with the emails stating the its super easy to make money online. When comparing online revenue to traditional storefront retailing, this is true. But it does take considerable amount of time and effort to make an idea or product list grow within the competitive landscape before the sales start to come in.
I personally use World Wide Brands as a product source. I also keep tabs on the new toys and cool gadgets that hit the market place. There are also many free resources that point out current retail trends.
Do you know how to advertise online?
There are two main methods for getting your site traffic online. The first is Paid Search, or commonly called Pay Per Click marketing. The second method is Search Engine Optimization.
Paid search are the sponsored listings that you see on Google, Yahoo, and MSN. The websites that are displayed there pay a fee each time someone clicks on there link, or ad. It’s easy to get your ads to display in the sponsored listings section. All it takes is creating an account with the search engine, developing a list of keywords and ads, making a deposit and setting your spending budget.
Search engine optimization are the traditional results that you see through out the many pages of search results on search engines. These sites are ranked by popularity, which is determined by the number of links from other websites that direct users to your site. There are many methods for doing search engine optimization, and many companies willing to help you.
For both pay per click and search engine optimization, I’ve found the OrangeSoda Inc. is the best company for new business owners with small budgets. If your interested in doing the work yourself, you should search out the many free tutorials regarding pay per click and search engine optimization. If have reading or viewing the tutorials, and you feel that you can do it, give it a go. But you may find that it’s too much work, at which point you should look for outside help.
It’s been over a year since I began my venture in to generating online revenue, and the hard work and patience is paying off. I recommend that you give it a go to.

Niche Markets and AdWords Campaigns
July 18, 2008 by wahbws

Not everyone is going to fit the perfect customer profile when it comes to your products or services. As a smart business owner, you have to know your niche, which is that particular segment of the population that is going to have interest in buying your product or service.
If they are to be effective, your AdWords campaigns have to address your particular niche. This means that you’ll need to know exactly who your customers are and why they buy your product or service. In turn, you’ll develop a focused keywords list from that.
Who is your customer, and who is potentially buying your product or service? If you are to be successful, you’re going to develop a profile of your typical customer. Your titles, keywords and descriptions have to appeal to this person. If the person is health-conscious, for example, your titles and keywords have to address that. Basically, you want to develop keywords and titles that capture the exact attention of your desired audience. For example, “heart healthy ground beef recipes” are much more likely to capture a health-conscious audience’s attention than simply “easy hamburger recipes.”
When you reach the right market, your niche, you need to avoid as much as you can the costs associated with clicks by people who aren’t going to buy your product or service. You want to avoid attracting viewers who will click but not buy, because you’ll pay a higher CPC rate without improving your sales. For example, if your conversion rates are low, that’s a good sign that your ads are too broad to reach just your target market.
Why do customers buy? It’s been suggested by marketing experts that people buy for one of three reasons: they need to take care of a basic need, they need to solve a problem, or they need to create positive feelings for or about themselves. What does this mean for you as a marketer? This means that your AdWords campaigns should tell the potential buyer what specific need will be satisfied, what problem will be solved, or what self-image improvement will happen because the customer purchases the product or service.
Those who search a specific term are given a list of hits when they hit “enter.” They’ll need to have a very strong reason to choose one versus another. If your ad titles are effective, this will increase to click-through rates. This will mean a lower CPC for you and better qualified leads coming to your pages.
If you want to focus more closely on your niche market, you can also use negative keywords. When these words are included in a viewer’s search, the ad will NOT appear in the results. To choose accurate negative keywords, you’ll need to do several things. First, you’ll need to use a keyword research tool, and enter the keywords you’ve chosen for your site. A list of phrases that searchers commonly use and that contain those words will be produced. For example, if you sell tulips, you might see that “pictures of tulips” is a frequently used phrase. A negative keyword such as “pictures” would prevent your particular ad from showing one of if viewers simply once an image of a tulip instead of actual tulips themselves.
In addition, if you use keyword phrase matching, you’ll better ensure that the ad will reach the viewers you want it to. You can also use common misspellings, variations in spelling, interchanged words and plural and singular forms of keywords to allow the maximum number of customers or potential customers to see the ad in response to a search they’re doing.
If you know your niche and you reach that segment of the market, you can better increase your chances of success with an AdWords campaign.

Creative Ways to Attract More Visitors to Your Trade Show Booth
July 18, 2008 by anutt
When you own a business, it can be a great idea to set up a trade show booth at a convention as a way to showcase and sell your products. Trade show booths allow you to be able to gain new customers and make individuals aware of your business and what it has to offer. However, you have to do something memorable at the convention so that potential customers will think of you when they need what you have. You don’t want to get lost amongst the other trade show booths because you have nothing unique that stands out. Just keep in mind that creative ideas sometimes consist of spending money, hence the saying, “it costs money to make money.” But what you will find is that your creative ideas will garner you the attention that you need to make your booth successful.
Unique Ideas
Some ideas may seem a bit off of the wall, but off the wall is what gets attention. Here are some ways that you can really get people to pay attention to your trade show booth:
- Try a money blowing machine. Many businesses use these machines to attract people to their locations. What happens is that people are standing in line to use the money blowing machine and they then see things that you have to offer. They will never forget you for giving them the chance to win some money. All the contestant does is step inside and grab at money or coupons. One or both can be placed inside. It makes for a rewarding experience and is also quite hilarious for the contestant and those watching.
- You can also go the route of offering promotional items. This isn’t saying that you should offer ink pens and magnifying glasses. Yes, a person will use an ink pen, but they tend to be boring. You want to give them something functional such as a canvas bag that has your logo on it. They can carry this around and use it for a lot of things. You can even get water bottles with a private label for your business and offer the thirsty people at the convention a bottle of water. That is another one of those things you can do that they will never forget you for.
- Scratch cards are something people really enjoy. You can have scratch cards made up that reveals that they have won something free or they get a special deal from your booth or your store. People love mystery, so you can use the scratch card for this very reason.
- Prize wheels make for a great tool because you can place the name of certain prizes on the wheel and your visitors can spin for a chance to win one of the prizes listed. This is a great go getter at a trade show and will really bring attention. Next to the money blowing machine, this is something that people will definitely want to participate in.
Don’t be afraid
Don’t be afraid to spend the money and use these ideas because they will definitely pay off. Even if you get a small percentage of customers out of a large percentage of visitors, your endeavors are still going to pay for themselves and then some. These creative ideas are also the way you are going to become the booth to see at any trade show event or convention you attend. You don’t just want to blend in with the crowd. You want to be so much more and that is what is going to happen here.

Writing Advertisements that Work
July 16, 2008 by buzzdeep
Whether you advertise via the medium of radio, print or on television, the most crucial element of your marketing strategy is the way in which you promote your business. In this respect, advertising plays a huge part in business promotion, particularly in terms of how your business is viewed by your potential customers. In order to write ads that truly generate strong sales leads, you need to start by mastering the following advertisement elements.
To begin with you must ensure you have a great opening line. The headline of the advertisement is what prompts potential customers to look or listen further at the advertising message. You are in your field of business to profit, and no one should understand your customers’ needs better. Having this solid understanding of your target audience means you to know just the kind of things that will attract their attention – all you need to do is make this into a headline. Successfully capturing your audience’s attention is one of the primary goals when developing an effective advertisement.
Once you have the audience you are seeking, then you should aim to identify all the products and service benefits your business is selling. To guide your writing for the advertisement, start by considering the unasked question on your audience minds – what’s in this for me? Don’t lose sight of the fact that you’re aim is to sell your products or services, not merely inform your audience about them. Hence, you need to give them a strong sense of why the product or service is of genuine value to them. Ensure that you are clear as to why this product is such good value and sell this to your audience within the body of the advertisement.
The advertisement needs to end with a strong ‘call to action’. This term simply means an affirmative ending statement that urges the customer to take further steps and buy the product. Once the advertisement has captured the customer’s attention and provided them with details of its value to them, the next step is getting the audience to act upon that information. Many business people find that this can actually be one of the most difficult elements to get right, but generally there are 3 things that you should include in the call to action.
Number one – list the ways and means that customers can contact you.
Number two – give a solid reason why they act upon your action call, a promotion or value offer is one option here.
Number three – ensure your call to action is almost an order, couched in very direct terms.
Ultimately your success with your advertising will rely on your being totally honest with yourself about what you aim to achieve from the promotion. The term, walk a mile in their shoes is what comes to mind here. Asses your advertising objectively, would you honestly be motivated to purchase if you were in the customer’s position. By following some of these suggestions here, you will soon be on your to creating well written and effective advertisements to sell your products and services. The outcome being that you will then reap the rewards that a good advertisement brings.

How to Generate Leads: Tips for Direct Sellers
July 15, 2008 by wahbws
In the direct sales industry, you have a lot of ways you can generate leads, both for potential recruits and customers.
Traditionally, if you were in direct sales prior to the Internet, you probably worked through the home party plan to get involved with products. Many still work this way today, in fact. Many direct sales companies give bonus free products to anyone who hosts a party, and these hosts then share information at the party. A direct sales rep can then find people attending the party who want to host parties of their own. This continuing supply of new host resources can keep direct sales reps in business and keep new customers coming in.
A home party can also be a great way to find new recruits. As the direct sales rep demonstrates product, for example, he or she can give some information on the business opportunity at hand and see if anyone is interested in your present group. As the demonstration winds up and guests start to leave or to peruse catalogs, direct sales reps can then talk personally with those who are interested in the opportunity.
Current customers, too, can become a source for potential parties, referrals or other recruits. Every direct sales rep already knows past customers who enjoy the products. If you call the customers and let them know what that month’s booking special is, the direct sales rep can also perhaps book several parties because of this.
If customers order product on a regular basis, they may or may not want to work in the business as representatives themselves. However, they can still work as consultants and get a discount on product. If you as a direct sales rep share that option with your customers, you may find yourself with several new recruits.
If a current customer does not want to book a party or join the company, the sales rep can still ask the customer if they know anyone who wants to. If the customer comes back with the names of several people, this is yet another source for new sales reps.
Another way to do this is to also set up a booth at a craft show or an expo. This can help a sales rep meet potential customers and new recruits. Alternatively, you can also hang flyers on local bulletin boards.
Today, the Internet has made it possible to conduct this type of business with people from all over the country and even overseas. Direct sales reps can advertise their businesses in forums and through blogs or other websites. This can generate leads for both new representatives and for the products themselves.
As you draw upon the traditional party plan model, you can also combine it with modern methods of publicity such as those offered by the Internet. In this way, you can give yourself as a sales rep a constant supply of new leads.
